Ken Cook and Advocacy Organizations on Toxics in Personal Care Products
Before watching this video, I honestly did not know that it is possible for unborn babies to be exposed to toxic chemical when they're still inside the mom's womb. I think this goes to show the amount of chemical we're being exposed to on the daily basis. To be honest, nobody can actually keep track of how many chemical they're putting on and into their body everyday and whether or not those chemical are safe or harmful. I think as consumers, we are quick to believe whatever is written on the package of a product as long as it's being sold in common well-known stores such as Costco or Target. Not everyone has the time to search up all the ingredients in a product and the possible health risks associated with that ingredients. That's why I think the work that EWG and other environmental public health advocacy organizations are doing is crucial in helping us to learn more about the products that we use on the daily basis. As consumer, we need to know how to choose better products and i think the EWG is doing a tremendous job in helping us finding better options available out there. In the long run, using safe non-toxic products can be beneficial in preventing future health risks and diseases not just for us but for our children and future generations.
